Interpretation of Quotation
“Employers identify communication as one of the basic competencies every graduate should have, asserting that the ability to communicate is valuable for obtaining employment and maintaining successful job performance.”
Sherwyn Morreale, Michael Osborn & Judy Pearson,
Professors of Communication (2000)
Interpretation:
Problems are multi-faceted, requiring employees of different departments to liaise with one another. Reinforcing the need to build trust between colleagues to improve productivity, morale & performance. Furthermore, poor communication can lead to inaccuracies in the information and a reluctance to share perspectives or ideas during discussions, wasting a potentially crucial addition to the final product of the discussion.

ReplyDeleteThanks< JiaLe, for making this initial post.
ReplyDeleteHello, Jiale, your interpretation is very well done. The content is very descriptive as I can see that you expanded beyond the box that this quotation has given you. The organization is very neat, I can understand the structure of your explanation very well, being able to discern which part is your point, explanation, example very clearly. Lastly, the language you used is quite good, however, you can afford to explain what you mean by some of the words because not everyone has the same proficiency in vocabulary, for instance, I don't know what is multi-faceted, hence I think you can afford to use simpler vocabulary for a wider audience.
